Sweep is essentially oil spill pads sewn to a nylon strap that you can drag through the water by hand or with a boat to absorb floating hydrocarbons such as gasoline or oil. They are great to put in the water if you think that you could spill some oil or gas to allow for quick absorption before a spill can get out of hand. A few ounces of oil has the potential to cover a square mile on the water so don't take a risk when working around the water.
